How to Crack the Roadies Audition

Hi! After pushing myself a lot, here I'm with a new article [Read: Extreme Procrastination].

Whenever I'm watching videos on YouTube, I always stumble upon one or two of this hugely successful MTV's reality shows 'ROADIES'. The show is an adventure one with a bit of voyeurism in it. The show has been a huge success and has become a cult among the masses. If you ask me, more than the journey of the roadies (participants) much more interesting is the PI round that is the personal interview round. Here is where the aspirants are grilled the show's producer Mr. Raghu Ram, his twin brother Rajiv and former Roadie Mr. Rannvijay Singha. In the judges try to assess what type of person the aspirant is and what type of thoughts does he have. So here I present my tips on how to crack the roadies audition.

Wait! Before I do that let us see what makes a Roadie!
Basically Roadies are self-motivated people; they do whatever they want, without seeking anybody's approval. Truly seeking to satisfy only one person in their life: themselves. They are the natural leaders. The ones people differ to.

How to crack the Roadies audition:

Have a life worth living:

Aspire for your life. Do the things you want to do in life. Always remember life is short! If you want to give the guy on the pavement some change? Do it. You want to get in better shape? Join the gym. Do it. Want to learn that guitar you bought with great awe but now its laying all dusty in one corner of your room? Do it. Go to different places, take dance lessons. Chase your dreams!

Do not beg or invoke pity:

Do not tell the judges of stories of tragedies of your life. If you say things like, “Sir agar aap mujhe Roadies mein loge toh mujhe fame milega”. You should make the judges feel that they are the ones who are gaining by taking you in their show.

Be interesting:

Tell them interesting stories from your life. If you do not stagnate and are always pushing yourself and doing the things you fear you will naturally have a lot of interesting stories and incidents to share with the judges.

Be prepared:

Be prepared to dance, crack jokes, stand on your head and one-legged push-ups. P.S.Vatsyayan wrote the Kamasutra, the book on love making. Be well-versed with world and Indian current-affairs.
Reveal minor vulnerabilities when asked:
The judges know that nobody’s perfect. Hence, when asked you should reveal some minor weaknesses that you have. For example, how you fear to talk in front of a huge crowd or how you fear losing your parents.

Do not be belligerent:

Please understand that the judges are here to give you an incredible experience by taking you in their show. They have other worthwhile things to do in life than to pick fights with you. Do not be rude, or insult or pick up fights with Roadies crew. And if you attend the interview with the mindset ‘Aaj toh main Raghu ko dikha ke rahoonga ki woh kis se panga le raha hai’. Do not enter the interview with the mindset that you have to show or prove the judges that you are roadie-material just believe that you are roadie-material and give them a chance to realize that you are indeed the one.

Do not brag:

“I manage 4 girlfriends at the same time”
          “I am the best”
          “Main task kar sakta hoon”
When you brag, you instantly reveal your insecurities to the judges. I you know you are the best, then why do you have to tell them?

Do not preach:

Do not teach Raghu how to run his show. He is smart and he is capable things the right way. If you do this you are going to be badly beaten and kicked out of the show.
For now I have only this much. I will be adding to this list and modifying in the near future. Kindly read and let me know do what do you think of my article. Your comments and suggestions are welcome and of course I would definitely love to hear Mr. Raghu Ram about what he thinks of this article.
